Is it possible to set up metrics or a scorecard in Power BI to filter to specific dataset? I know that I can do this within the dashboard but I am unable to figure it out with the scorecard/metrics function. I work for a school district and we want to be able to have scorecards for each building. We have filters and row level security for the dashboard but it will not change the scorecard and only keeps the district scorecard. Do I have to do a completely different scorecard for each building or can it filter on the dataset like the graphics in the dashboard? If they have to be separate, is there a way to display the correct scorecard on the dashboard based on the row level security?
Hi @fryattm -In Power BI, the Scorecard/Metrics feature doesn't currently support dynamic filtering or row-level security in the same way that dashboards do. This means that, unlike visuals in a dashboard that can filter based on RLS (Row Level Security) or slicers from a dataset, metrics in a scorecard cannot dynamically change based on the dataset filter unless handled manually.
solution should be:
You may need to create a scorecard for each building if you require specific metrics for each.
Simulated Filtering: Embed scorecards into dashboards and control which one is visible through navigation and bookmarks, though this is a workaround and not dynamic filtering.
Apps and Permissions: You can bundle separate scorecards into an app and apply row-level security at the app level for better control.
