I have an on-premises tabular named ActivitiesDB in SSAS.
I have a Powe BI report which consumes data from ActivitiesDB and the report will be published to the Power BI service. I need to make sure that the report published to the Power BI service will access the current data in ActivitiesDB.
What should I do?
1-Deploy an on-premises data gateway and configure the connection to ActivitiesDB to use
the Connect live option.
2-Deploy an on-premises data gateway (personal mode) and configure to ActivitiesDB to use
the DirectQuery Data Connectivity mode.
3-Deploy an on-premises data gateway and configure the connection to ActivitiesDB to use
the DirectQuery Data Connectivity mode.
Which one from above is correct answer? My answer is 1
You have to either pick import or connect live. Direct Query isn't supported for SSAS. They are mostly the same thing, but not quite identical. You can read more about the differences between a Live Connection and Direct Query here. And you do need to use the Gateway in Enterprise mode.
DAX is for Analysis. Power Query is for Data Modeling

Your explanation says that below is the Correct Answer:
1-Deploy an on-premises data gateway and configure the connection to ActivitiesDB to use
