Power BI never opens

Installed Power BI. Right click - Run as Administrator. Screen blinks and nothing starts. No Power BI in Task Manager. Trying to do a comparison analysis on Power BI to Tableau and am not off to a good start.

No errors during installation (64bit) and no error message when trying to open Power BI. Just nothing.

Any ideas why?

Thank you!
Gino

    Hi Gino49,

I found a similar thread here in which there are other users also encountered the same issue as yours. And there are some workarounds mentioned in that thread. One of the workarounds is to install the 32-bit Power BI Desktop instead. Could you go and check if it could help.:smileyhappy:

    Regards

Thanks, JerryLi! I did get PBI x86 to work only to quickly find out that it doesn't work in conjunction with Excel 64bit. I guess that's what you get for the price. Unfortunately, it looks like we'll stay with Tableau/Excel. I don't have the highest skilled (technically) users and there's no way I'd be comfortable recommending something as flaky as PBI.

      Wish you well!

Gino49, which version of Power BI desktop you're working with? Do you download and install the latest version desktop?
