I'd like to add some data from another data model to a new data model. I don't want to import the whole model, I just want a snippet of information.
What I'm currently doing is using the Analyse in Excel ability of the Power BI service to create a pivot table of the information I want to extract and that Excel file is saved on SharePoint. I will then manually refresh that file to get the latest data.
Essentially what I want to do is run that query directly in Power BI rather than having to run the query in Excel and then import the Excel workbook. Is there any way of doing this.
I attempted to use bits of the connection info of the .odc file but no luck.

Hi @Veles,
Why not connecting to the data source directly?
Best Regards,

Hi @v-jiascu-msft,
The data model I'm getting data from is very complex with lots of data sources. I don't want to duplicate and then have to maintain a copy of the data model.
I can't connect to the data model directly as it won't then let me connect to any other data sources and I don't want to add any other data sources to the original model as it is quite large and complex as it is.
