I'm trying to install Power BI without windows store and the installation doesn't open.
I've tried the following;
Need this installed without windows store as ill be running on a server at some point.

All help welcome, thanks.

For those that are experiencing the same issue, download and install using this link;
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45331
Then download the latest version;
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=58494
And the installer will run, seems it requires dependencies an older version would provide.
I have a corporate issued laptop, the Windows store is not an option for me.
Older versions of PowerBI desktop are available here:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-latest-update-archive#july-2019-update-2715523641
The linked version, from July 2019, worked fine for me.
MS removed the 2019 verison of Power BI. This solution no longer works and the installer still doesnt work for me.
MS needs to fix the installer already.
Great! The installer there works for me
Thank you for the help!

The top download for the older version does not work anymore - it only lets you download a text file with the content "This download has been deprecated. Please visit https://aka.ms/pbiSingleInstaller to download the latest release of Power BI Desktop."
Is MS working on resolving the problem about the latest installer not launching? :-s
Im afraid the only way around it now is to attempt to install an older version and then run the latest installer. If you are getting a .txt file as the downloaded file then use the built-in update feature to get you where you need to be.
Alternativly you can download just fine using the Windows Store download option.
Hope that helps.
I had the same issue. whatever I tried it would not install. Using the store was not an option since this was regarding a citrix server. I ended up using a package buikder to convert the exe to an msi. from ther it would install fine. Very strange, I don't understand why microsoft doesn't offer the msi installation anymore.
