Power BI hangs on startup

When I try to start Power BI Desktop, it pauses for along time and eventually presents an error.  Can't connect to server.  I can see that the SSAS program is starting.  But it seems that Power BI can't find it.

I spent a few days troubleshooting.  Tried creating a new user.  Tried deleteing whole folders of info.  Tried uninstall and reinstall.

Not sure what to do next.  I'm working on putting in a support ticket.

    Hi pabeader , Could you please share what error you are getting also which version you are tying to install ?
    Is the issue related to 32 / 64 bit issue ?
