Power BI desktop won't start
Hi,
I did a massive Windows 10 update last night and now Power BI won't start. I get the splash screen and then nothing. No error message, it just doesn't start.
I've tried running as administrator and also uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing has fixed the problem.

Thanks everyone for your help,
The problem seemed to be with the Windows 10 anniversary update, which broke not just Power BI, but also my SQL installation on my laptop.
After trying for a few days to fix everything, I did an OS reinstallation and everything is fine now.

Thanks for the suggestion, but we I'm not using any gateways.
In fact, I don't think it is getting that far. It is displaying the initial splash screen and then nothing more.

Hi rhurford,
Please first take a look at the Event Viewer, see if there are any application errors logged.
If an application hangs or not responding, system would generate related logs.
Further, if there is no helpful information that we could find through the system log, we may take use of Process Monitor to generate a Power BI launching trace.

Hi all,
I had the same problem and found that I had a program called web companion(from lava soft), when I uninstalled the problems dissapeared.
