Power BI desktop visuals and data won't load

We have Power BI reports connected to an Azure Analysis Services data source and they run just fine on the service, but then when I download the reports and open them in Power BI Desktop, the visuals and data in the filters just keeps loading. I can see the tables and fields on the right though. It seems that occasionally the report will load fine, but usually this is what happens. What typically causes this? I am running the latest version of Power BI Desktop
