Hi, I am trying to format a button to redirect to a web-url, but I can not get it to work on my current laptop device. When I follow the same steps from a button web-url tutorial on another device I somehow can get it to work. Does anyone know of any settings that might be changed on my current laptop that prohibits Power BI from opening a webpage?
My standard browser is set to microsoft edge, however I have also tried using google chrome which did not yield any results.
This is how I have formatted the button, just to link to https://www.google.com/ :
Hi @SvenW ,
From my test, it works as below.
Normally, it will not prohibit Power BI from opening a webpage. I wonder that "not working" you said meant after you clicked the button, nothing happened, or after you clicked the button, it junped to website but couldn't open the webpage as below.
You can try another web url or create a web text box to see if you can open the website. Or you can try to refresh or update your Power BI Desktop.

My apologies for the ambiguity, I indeed mean that when CTRL + clicking on a button, nothing happens. I have tried multiple web-urls. Also when I try using a text-box url it does not seem to work.
I do believe that I am running the most recent version of Power BI: Version: 2.111.590.0 64-bit (November 2022).
Refreshing the report, or starting in a new blank report yield the same results. Would you have any other suggestions?
