Power BI desktop OneDrive and SharePoint integration

Hello All,

 

I want to use the new feature "Save to OneDrive and SharePoint" in the Power BI Desktop file but I'm not sure if it will work for my needs. I personally like to create multiple folders to better organize my .pbix files. I have a Production and Test folder. Within the Production folder there are sub folders for each workspace. I want to set up our SharePoint similar to that so we can organize our reports.

When I want to save a report, I can select the folder to save in SharePoint but I can't make the "Default local file location:" similar to my OneDrive. It's a global setting and will put all my reports in one location on my OneDrive. I would have to manually move them to the separate folders.

Is there something I'm missing or missunderstanding?

  • Sync the SharePoint library to your computer with the sync button in the library. Then it'll act like a normal folder path on your PC. I did a video on how to set this up here if that's useful:
