Power BI connectivity

Hi everyone,

I wonder if anyone can help.

We have recently implemented synapse into our azure reporting platform but have come across an issue when Power BI desktop report developers are trying to access the serverless sql pool which is the final target of our synapse pipeline.

Details :

  • Nov 22 version of Power BI Desktop Installed
  • Report Developer has been assigned the Storage Blob Contributor role
  • Power Bi Connector – Azure Synapse Analytics SQL
  • Correct and validated connection details - xxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxxx-ondemand.sql.azuresynapse.net

Error :

Error returned by Power BI Desktop – Could not authenticate with credentials provided.

    brianbee66 , Check in the data Source setting if you have a similar connection-> clear permission and try again

     

    If that does not work, on SSMS (SQL server management studio) , try to connect the to Azure Sql and check if you are able to connect

     

    Check if ip whitelisting might be an issue
