Power BI can not open csv or excel

Hi guys, I was trying to use Power BI to open an EXCEL file but I got this message, is there anyway I can fix it?

Hi @asxzswqaz ,

Whether you can connect to the other CSV files except the current one successfully in Power BI Desktop? Could you please try the following methods and check if they can resolve your problem?

Method 1. Save the current CSV file with excel format (.xlsx) and connect to that excel file in Power BI Desktop

Method 2. Uninstall and install Power BI Desktop with latest version(get it from Power BI download page )

If the above methods is not working, please share your CSV file(exclude sensitive data) with me. Later I will check and test it can be connected successfully in my side. Thank you.

@asxzswqaz , I am not sure what do mean by. I am sure you are importing excel and cvs

 

like get data

or import excel, power pivot

Finally solved the problem - do not download Power BI from Microsoft app store

Yes, I did follow those steps...It's just Power BI wont load the data - it shows the error message as above

Please inspect data of each column especially date column in excel and try loading.
