Power BI and Google Maps Support

Hi,

I am trying to create a mapping report in Power BI and this is my first time doing this so I just need some guidance on where to start.

I have two layers I want to add to the map:

-1st layer will be local authorities.

Example; the first layer data will look like:

NameLongLatAreashapeLengthshape
Hartlepool-1.2702300554.6761589194110514.7960466.16928
Darlington-1.5683499654.5353508197790116.597801.40112
Warrington-2.5616700653.3916282718091146483609.5493

The google maps example of the first layer looks like:

-2nd layer goes into more details. This will consist of pins of different attributes within the above local authorities. Example; train stations, hospitals, airports etc. The data for the second layer looks like this at the moment:

The google maps example of how the pins look is below (which also consists of the first layer):

I want to replicate this in Power BI but need some guidance on how to do this. What tools are the best option and where can I start from?

I also want to know if there is a way of linking the first layer of local authorities which consist of city names to the attributes (airports, hospitals, schools etc) data table. There is no primary key to create a relationship between these tables.

Hi @PBChecking01

You can try ArcGIS Maps or Azure Maps. They are close to what you want.

Using the Azure Map visual in Power BI

Introduction to ArcGIS Maps for Power BI

As currently there is no relationship between two tables, I recommend that you combine two tables' location details into one table. Or add local authorities column to the second table, then create a relationship between two tables on local authorities.

Hope this would be helpful.
