Hello,
I am just curious of opinions and best practice. Should Power BI be build on top of a datawarehouse? Currently, we do not have a data warehouse and wonder if we should have one. We have built Dashboard on top of SQL databases. Before we get too far along, I was curious to know if most folks build a DWH before building PBI objects?

@bcap01 Most people? No. But that's generally because most of the people using Power BI aren't professional data modelers. In the enterprise space, yes, generally you have a data warehouse and build out Power BI reports and such based upon that single source of truth. If it's available to you, I would highly recommend looking into the new datamarts feature of Power BI. Makes for an intriguing option to build out a data warehouse quickly and completely in the cloud.
