Could there be any slicers hidden from view or positioned behind other visuals? I once had a colleague who couldn't figure out why his visuals weren't updating, and it turned out that slicers were placed behind the visible visuals. You can use the selection pane to see a list of all visuals on the page, including those that are hidden.
