Power BI Template apply on exisisting report

Hi everyone

I have the following problem:

I have created a power bi template, which contains some shapes, text blocks, company logo etc..
I want to import this template to existing reports so that they all look the same.

When I tried to import it to an existing report, it just opened a new file instead of “overwriting” the existing one as I had expected.

Question: Is my approach possible in power bi? If not, is there a workaround?

I would hate to have to manually adjust all the reports in the company.

Thank you!

Val

Hey @PRV
Unfortunately, it is not possible to directly import a Power BI template (PBIT file) into an existing report (PBIX file) and have it automatically apply the visual elements (such as shapes, text blocks, or logos) to that existing report. Power BI templates are designed to create new reports based on the template, rather than to modify or overwrite existing reports.

If it helps Kudos the work and Accept it as Solution.

Hi, @PRV

Thanks for elitesmitpatel's reply. As elitesmitpatel said, there is currently no support for applying templates to existing pbix files. You have to manually adjust the pbix.

You can submit an idea for here and vote it, the product team will take note of such a need.
