Power BI Slicers

Hello,

I am having the following issue with my slicers: I click on them to test it out and then unclick them, make other edits to my dashboard and then when I publish (no slicers selected) and save it, it gets published with some random slicers selected. How do I leave it all clear? I have a clear slicers button which I always click on before publishing.

Thanks,

Bruna

  • Hi b-kopik,

After publishing the report, ensure you have selected "reset" - to reset the page to its original published form.

This could be related to persistent filters in the Power BI Service. Even if the report is published with all slicers cleared, the Service can sometimes restore the last saved filter state for a user.

If you're using a bookmark for the Clear Slicers button, make sure the bookmark was updated after all slicers were cleared. I've seen cases where the bookmark itself was holding old selections.

Also worth checking whether the issue happens for everyone or just for you, as that can help determine whether it's report-related or caused by persistent filters in the Service.

  • Hello! It happens to all users - I want to make sure there are no slicers at all time and then people can select as needed.

b-kopik Check below option and publish to PBI Service - This will open the Power BI File in original state with no slicers selection in Service. It will prevent from saving slicers/filters.

      File > Options & Settings > Options
