Power BI Service Refresh

Hi,   I want to refresh my dataset in Power BI service every second so that it can update the dashboard whenever a chnage is made in the databse. Somehow, I can scheduke the refresh on desktop and ...

Hi Anonymous ,

 

My understanding is that what you did is setting Automatic page refresh on Power BI Desktop. And then, you published the report to Power BI Service. Right?

 

What's your data source? If they are on-premises, you need to use a gateway.

 

1. You can refer this document to deploy a gateway for Power BI: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-deployment-guidance.

 

2. And these document will help you to manage data sources: 

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-data-sources;

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-enterprise-manage-sql.

 

 

Then, the automatic page refresh will work in Power BI Service.

    Hi,

     

    Thank you for the reply. No, the data is not on premise so I cannot use gateway option. Them, i did went through bunch of documents but none of them gave me the option to do refresh every second on the dataset.

     

    I am still exploring possible solutions.
