For anyone using Power BI to deliver their content, has anyone run into the issue where a dashboard failed to refresh, due to a "transient error?" If so, what is your solution?
We have been having this issue with complicated, long-running queries.
We are using Oath 2.0 for the authentication. We believe this may be related to a timeout issue, using this authentication method.
Hi @Anonymous ,
As you mentioned, here is my answer to the question.
If your dataset contains large amounts of data, consider reducing the number of records in one or more tables. Large datasets can sometimes lead to timeouts during refresh. Try to keep the file size below 1 GB. If other methods fail, try saving the report with a different file name (e.g., “ABC”).Once saved, re-save it with the original filename that you need. You can read this document: Solved: Transient Issue while Saving power BI report on lo... - Microsoft Fabric Community.
Clear the cache from Power BI options and settings. Sometimes cached data can cause issues during refresh. After clearing the cache, attempt the refresh again.
If you use a gateway, ensure it is configured correctly.
Best Regards
