Power BI - Scorecard
Simple one .. I think ... we have been using Scorecard more and more. We will be adapting our use to replace Viva Goals in 2026 and create some KPI trees etc.
What would be helpful is to be able to select other colours than the pastel shades on offer.
I would like to be able to use 'Red, Amber, Green' ... but vibrant colours ... as well as blue and yellow etc.
Is this doable?
Also on statuses it would be great to be able to create a template with a set of precreated statuses in we could then share across the business. This would allow for greater standardisation ... then whenever someone is looking at a scorecard, in whatever part of the business, they have the same status naming conventions and the same colours associated with them.
No, this isn't currently doable.
Power BI Scorecards have fixed color palettes for statuses. You can't customize them to use specific RGB values like vibrant red/amber/green.
For status standardization, you also can't create shareable templates. Each Scorecard requires manual setup of status names and uses the limited available colors.
Submit these as feature requests through the Power BI Ideas forum. These are common user complaints without current workarounds.

Yes, you can set vibrant colors like red, amber, green, blue, and yellow for Power BI Scorecard statuses by customizing them in edit mode, use the color picker next to each status to select your preferred color instead of the default pastel options.
Using Custom Colors
In scorecard edit mode, select the pencil icon on a metric, go to “Manage statuses,” and choose any color for each status using the color picker.
You can use HEX codes for truly vibrant colors as desired.
Standardizing Status Templates
You can create status templates by customizing statuses (names, colors, order) and sharing the scorecard with others in your organization.
Shared scorecards will retain the naming conventions and color associations, ensuring consistent standards across the business.
