Hi Experts,
I'm facing a tricky issue that I haven't been able to solve.
I have two slicers: the parent slicer contains values A, B, and C, while the child slicer has values A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, C1, and C2.
When I select a value from the parent slicer, for example, A, the corresponding options in the child slicer (A1, A2, and A3) are correctly filtered.
However, what I need is that whenever a new selection is made in the parent slicer, any previous selections in the child slicer are automatically reset before applying the new filter.
Any suggestions on how to achieve this?
Thanks!
Not possible directly, and it would go against the design principles. @PijushRoy answer is a possible alternative.
Make sure not to confuse your users either way.
Note: This is a much more complex topic than it may seem. It can lead to unintended data leakage in RLS scenarios.
Hi @Sonu88
The best option is, to use the Clear All Slicer button, it will reset the Parent & child existing filter.
Business users can use Parent & then Child slicer.
Let me know if that works

Hi @PijushRoy , but in that case user has to click the reset button each time before they go for new selection. Is there any way where it should be automatcially whenever user select the parent slicer?
Same table.
Hi @Sonu88

Hi @Sonu88
When you select Parent slicer, child slicer will be automatically filtered out.
After you select any value from the Child slicer, you need to Clear all Slicers before selecting another Parent slicer.
Hope Parent slicer value and Child slicer value are coming from Same table or related table?

When you select Parent slicer, child slicer will be automatically filtered out.
Sort of. While the values no longer appear in the other visuals, the now orphaned "child" items will continue to be visible to the user, with 0 rows to them.
