Hi @nix,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.
Make sure your home page report and all departmental reports are published into a single Power BI Workspace. This is essential because only reports in the same workspace can be bundled into one App.
Choose the "Create → App" option in the workspace. Add the following to the navigation area: departmental reports and Your Home Page report. Organize the navigation pane so that users may navigate between reports with ease. Make use of appropriate display names and groups to ensure readability. After selecting "Next" and granting user access, publish the application. Your main point of navigation will be this app.
Instead of using full web URLs in your homepage report, use “Button → Action → Type: Web URL” and insert the report’s App-based URL (not the full workspace URL). If all pages were in one report, you could use “Type: Page navigation” instead. Since your reports are separate PBIX files, App-level links are the best solution. This keeps navigation within the same browser tab and eliminates login prompts, assuming proper permissions are in place.
In the App, click “Update App”. Add all users or security groups under the “Permissions” section. Share the App URL with users and ask them to bookmark it. This ensures users log in once and navigate freely across reports without being asked to authenticate again.
If this post helps, then please give us ‘Kudos’ and consider Accept it as a solution to help the other members find it more quickly.
Thank you.
Hi @nix - Instead of using a button with a web URL, try using a page navigation button if the reports are within the same Power BI workspace.
If reports are separate, use a Power BI Dashboard as the main navigation page, then pin reports to it.
Use report bookmarks if the reports are part of the same PBIX file.
If all reports belong to the same workspace, you can use cross-report drill-through instead of URL buttons.
In Power BI Service, enable cross-report drill-through so that navigation feels seamless without opening new tabs.
Ensure that all users have consistent access permissions in Power BI Service.
Use "Embed" URLs instead of direct web URLs.
If your reports are inside SharePoint or an App, use the Power BI App to centralize access.
Hope this helps.
