Power BI Report saved from 'Visualize this view' in Dynamics 365 not able to edit in Power BI Desktp

Hi Folks,

I was unable to edit the Power BI report saved from Visualize this view in Dynamics 365.

I was able to able to save the report to a workspace as I have Power BI Pro license. Then I tried to download the Power BI Report.

I observed that I was unable to edit the downloaded file. However the article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/dynamics-quick-create-report suggests that it can be edited. Please let me know if any one had a solution or came across this problem, it keeps showing this prompt again and again, unable to change the datasource.

Thanks for your reply @Greg_Deckler.

Yes, I tried to click run multiple times but this pop up window for Native Database Query doesnt go away and reappears after clicking on run, finally I have to close the PBI since I can't get this to work. I am trying to change the semantic model actually.

Appreciate if you can suggest me on this issue.

Cheers,

PMDY

@pavanmanideep Have you tried editing it directly in the Service? Also, is this D365 F&SCM or D365 CE/CRM/Sales?

There is a big difference between those two.

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

@Greg_Deckler I even tried to create a new connection under Cloud Connections in the Power BI Service and then downloaded the Power BI Report to edit in Desktop but the issue still prevails.

This in Dynamics 365 CE Sales.

@pavanmanideep That's not what it is saying. Click the Run button to run the Native query. It's just a warning that you are running a native query and that native queries can be bad sometimes.
