Hi All,
We have a potential Power BI client who is unaffected from a budget perspective, but is constrained in terms of their internet connectivity. The client is a large fruit company and is based in an industrial area with limited internet connection. The client has researched Power BI and feels it is the best solution for them. Given the internet connectivity constraint, connecting to the Power BI service is not possible and going the On-premise route with the report server seems like a more viable option. Our concerns are we won't be able to implement a strong Power BI strategy by not utilising the Power BI service to get all the rich features out like: Hosting and connecting to shared Power BI datasets, creating Power BI reports in browser, analyze in Excel, etc.
Is there a way around our constraints so the customer can benefit from the correct strategy?

@SeesideExtended , Power bi On-premise have a lot of limitations and on premise will also require network connectivity (not internet, Assuming LAN/WAN)
Just check VLAN can setup can help
Hi @SeesideExtended ,
The Power BI service is a cloud-based service, or software as a service (SaaS). It supports report editing and collaboration for teams and organizations.
As far as I know, PBI service cannot ignore internet connectivity
Best Regards,
Liang
