Power BI Report Embedded in PowerPoint - Change Date Format

Hello,

First time using the PowerPoint Intergation for Power BI Reports 😊

I've successfully embedded the various reports I need into PowerPoint but the data format isn't showing as UK date format. I can't seem to find where I'd need to change the date format in the options.

Date format is correct on Power BI but changes to the above format when embedded into PowerPoint.

Any help would be appreciated 😊

Found the answer, don't use Short Date, but actually select the format you want. Works ok now for me.

      I have the same issue

Date is represented correctly in Power BI Desktop Application and PowerBI Service (UK Date format via a custom date format, not short date). Using the Power BI Powerpoint plugin I noticed a date slicer (from & to date) is formatted with US date format mm/dd/yyyy rather than dd/mm/yyyy.

Checked the underlying data in PowerQuery and even manually set locale

Checked in PowerBI data tables - date format manually set (not short date)

Checked the visual slicer and manually set date format

      Checked my computer's regional settings

Checked regional settings in Microsoft.com for my Office365 account license

All above are set to UK

The only place the format flips is in the embedded Power BI reports

I have tried removing and re-inserting the reports with no change

Is this a bug in the plug-in?? If so how do we raise this for investigation? Thanks!

  • Hello,

Try checking the regional settings on your PC.

I have also just started using it, and noticed the same issue. If I check the date formats in PBI Desktop, and also the same report online, they are UK format, but in Powerpoint show with the month first???
