Power BI Report Builder, Power BI Paginated Report

Hi all,

Data Source : PBI Dataset

No. of Parameters : 2 (Fiscal Year & View)

We have two tables 'Date' and 'Revenue' and we have a relationship on the 'datedimID' columns. We need to achieve two different views using the Power BI Paginated Report or Report Builder, the 'Code view' and 'Name view' and embed in the Desktop. These two columns are available in the 'Revenue' table. We want to have these View as a "Parameter".

We created custom parameter named 'View' in Report Builder and we have achieved changing the view is Report Builder, but when we embed the Paginated Report in PBI Desktop and 'Set Parameters' we are facing error, attached screenshot for reference.

This is because we do not have any relationships between 'Date' and the 'View' which we created.

We understand that we can create two different paginated reports and using the button and action to switch views, but we want to see if we can achieve this in the Report Builder and embed in Desktop.

It would be of a great help if any of us have any solution.

@jfinney , because the view is not having a join, You can pass it as a measure like selectedvalue(View[View])
