Power BI Q&A is unavailable - Publish to web option

Hi , I am new to Power BI.

I am using latest Power BI desktop and want to test Q&A feature. I have connected with SQL 2017 server. This feature

works fine in embedded mode. After publish a report to web when I click the QA button it pop up below message.

"Q&A is unavailable
Q&A isn't supported for reports that use DirectQuery data sources, nor for reports shared using publish to web. If your dataset uses a live connection to an on-premises Analysis Services model, you may need to turn on Q&A to use it. Go to Settings > Datasets, select your dataset, expand Q&A and Cortana, and select Turn on Q&A for this dataset."

For your information.

I have created report in 2 ways.

1. Get data using Anaalysis Services using Import / Connect Live.
2. Get data using SQL Server using SQL Statement.

Please suggest a way to get work QA in publish to web option feature.

Any help is appericiated.
Thanks

Hi @kgskml,

Based on my test, there are some limitations when you are using Q&A for live connections in Power BI, you could refer to below link:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-q-and-a-direct-query#considerations-and-troublesho...

I suggest you could import your data to the Power BI Desktop and use the Q&A function with your report.

Direct Query addresses the major issue of working with large and frequently changing databases.  However, the limitations have me questioning the continued use of Power BI.
