Power BI Pro

Hi,

 

I have the power BI Pro license and would like to share my report with non pro users inside the organisation, do they also require Power Bi Pro to view the reports ?, cause when one of my collegue who is a non power bi pro user clicked on the link, it is showing 59 days remaing on the top, kindly let me know.

When I shared them the link they didnt quite see the report, just showing loading, but when I shared it in teams  they could see it.
I shared the dashboard from my workspace.

    Hi,

    Yes, for another user to view a Report that has been shared with them by a Pro licence user,  they require a Power BI Pro licence. Initially they may get a "trial licence" that runs for 60 days. This is what your collegue has got, a Trial Licence with 59 days remaining before it reverts to a Free licence that will not let him view reports that have been shared. With a Pro, or Pro Trial licence they should be able to view reports and Dashboards shared with them either through Teams, or Power BI's "Shared with me" folder.

      Thanks for the quick reply,

       

      I have an idea that the sharing is a pro feature, but viewing is also a pro feature ?
      Is there any work around where I can show it to a wider audience of non pro users, and the dashboard has row level security as well.

        Yes, to securely view anything shared with them by a Pro user, recipients need a Pro licence.

        You could use Publish to Web which gives anyonymous access to the Report for everyone. But that is not secure, you can't restrict who sees it. Also if you've used RLS that will not work with Publish to Web.
