Power BI PL 300 question - Edit interactions to Filter & Matrix

Your first choice, Matrix, is correct. However, select Apply drill down filters to Selected visual. This keeps drill-down changes within the matrix, while selecting a matrix cell can still filter the card and bar chart. Edit interactions to Filter controls normal visual selections, not drill-down behavior.

For this question, the correct answer depends on what the requirement is asking, but if the goal is to control how one visual affects another visual on the report page, then Edit interactions → Filter is the correct option.

When you select a visual and enable Edit interactions, Power BI provides options such as:

• Filter → The selected visual filters the data shown in another visual.

• Highlight → The selected visual highlights the related data but keeps the remaining data visible.

• None → The selected visual does not affect the other visual.

For a Matrix visual, choosing Filter means that when a user selects a value in the matrix, other visuals on the page will be filtered based on that selection.

The option "Apply drill down filters to selected visual" is different. It is related to drill down behavior, not visual interactions.

Drill down filters are applied when a user navigates through a hierarchy inside a visual, for example:

• Year → Quarter → Month

• Country → State → City

When drill down is activated, Power BI changes the level displayed in that visual and applies the drill-down context. It does not control whether one visual filters another visual.

So:
