I have opened this link: Previous monthly updates to Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
But I don't see any link to download the older versions of Power BI Desktop. Did Microsoft intentionally remove them?
The main concern is that in the past years, newer Power BI Desktop version is not fully compatible with our datasets from the older versions. There were multiple errors that suddenly exist in the newer version but do not exist in older versions.
So I cannot just use the latest Power BI Desktop version currently available due to this.

Hi pelangi,
We appreciate your inquiry submitted through the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
Based on my understanding, Microsoft now emphasizes distribution via the Microsoft Store and automatic updates to the latest build. Consequently, the archive primarily contains release notes and only a limited number of direct installers. Some older installers have been retired for reasons of security, compatibility, or licensing.
Microsoft has not removed older versions of Power BI Desktop, and as mentioned by @AnalyticPulse , a limited number of them remain listed in the official archive: Previous monthly updates to Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn . Each monthly section includes details of that release, and some versions provide direct download links. If your reports fail only in a newer version but function correctly in an older one, please share the exact old and new Desktop version numbers, the error message or screenshots, and the file type (.pbix / connector used). This information will help confirm whether the issue is a regression or a compatibility problem.
We hope the information above helps resolve the issue. Should you have any further queries, please feel free to contact the Microsoft Fabric community.
Thank you.
