Power BI Matrix Visual Formatting

I am going through the matrix visual format settings on Matrix visual format settings - Power BI | Microsoft Learn, and I want to format my matrix visual the same as the screenshot that the documenation shows. The screenshot can be seen by going to the link provided or see it below.

Basically, I want to give the parent level the same background color, then give the children a different background color to indicate the grouping/hierarchy.

I can't seem to format it the same way as Microsoft did in their screenshot. In the screenshot, the parent level has a light grayish background color for each row, then the children have a white background color.

Thank you! Spent hours to format, and apparently, I was not able to spot "Apply to Labels"
