Power BI Masters, I Appreciate Your Help

Hello everyone,

I wish to have an information icon that displays a tooltip when it is clicked (button), how can I achieve that?

Thanks all for your help.

  • Hi Anas87

In this case you can use Bookmarks
I will give you a general overview on how to create, but If you want data to change etc, please check the link above

    • In the ribbion go to View and then open the Bookmarks and Selection tabs
    • In the Bookmarks pane add two new bookmarks, call then Info Open Info Closed or whatever you wish.
    • Click on the 3 dots beside the name and untick data
    • Repeat above but click on update
    • Repeat for the 2nd Bookmark
    • In the Ribbion Insert a 2 buttons (Open and Close), shape and a text box(For information tooltip) or Visual
    • Position the Open Button to where you want it and name it in the Formatting pane to Open, also rezise and format the shape to how you want it and then position the text box(For information tooltip) or Visual  in the middle of the background. Postion the close button also and rename
    • Make sure that the position of the shape is under the text box(For information tooltip) or Visual and close buttons in the selection tab, this is called layering and in this position the shape wont cover the visual or button.
    • Highlight the info open bookmark and in the selection pane, hide the open button and then beside the bookmark name click the 3 dots and press update
    • Highlight the close button, unhide the open button, but hide the Shape, close button and the visual and update the bookmark.

That's the general overview on how to create. There loads of videos online outlining how to do this. Guy in a Cube for example

    Hope this helps

    Joe
