Hello @JO7 , and thank you for starting a discussion in the Power Bi Desktop Community Forum.

It’s completely normal to encounter challenges.  Let’s explore this further:

What Specific Issues Are You Facing?

  • Could you provide more details about what isn’t helpful when joining tables? Are there any
    error messages or unexpected results?
  • Have you tried joining tables using the Relationships page, Power Query, or DAX?

Relationships Page vs. Power Query vs. DAX: Which Have You Tried?

  • The Relationships page is the simplest way to join tables. Did you encounter any issues with this method?
  • Power Query allows you to merge tables during data preparation. Have you explored this option?
  • DAX can be used to calculate columns based on relationships. Have you experimented with DAX formulas?

Column Data Types and Null Values:

  • Ensure that common columns being joined have the same data type in both tables.
  • Consider removing rows with missing or null values before joining the tables.

Remember, every developer faces challenges, and seeking help from the community
is a great step. Feel free to share more details, and forum members will work
through this with you!
