Power BI Helper External Tool

Hi all,

i just discovered the Power BI Helper Tool from Radacad ->

Power BI Helper - RADACAD

As the features are relly helpful, I am thinking about the security aspect. 

Does anyone has any experience with the tool. It seems to work offline, but there is a option to register the Poer BI Helper to your tenant...what means data will be processed from and to the Power BI Helper. Not sure if that is a security issue.

Hi @NovaBI 

Power BI Helper tool handling only the metadata of your Power BI system. You need to register an AAD application which is a basic requirement for any external to access the Power BI metadata or APIs.

@Hariharan_R  Thanks for your answer, I already saw that comment from Reza. I do trust him as he is well known in the community, but if we have an internal audit, I need something more tangible than a comment 🙂

But there is a statement on his page as well saying that no data is stored anywhere.

Could you give me a hint on how to register the app? I did try the usual way ->

https://dev.powerbi.com/apps

But if i click sign in, i am redirected to -> https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/developers/

if i sign in there, i end up in my PBI service cloud.

Then i was trying -> https://app.powerbi.com/embedsetup

But i cant select the native app option, its like this:

Hi @Hariharan_R ,

thanks for the answer. I did try the 2nd solution already, but it seems as we are sitting on a dedicatd capacity, the azure authorization asked for the Corporate admin (grant admin constent for XYZ). I can't proceed from this point.
