Power BI Gateway
I'm new to PowerBI. Created a couple of reports with PowerBI Desktop with Import method to an on-premise SQL Server as the data source and published it online (https://app.powerbi.com/). I have been opening the reports, right click on the Table(s) and Refresh data then publishing it online to update the data periodically.
I was told there's a gateway setup that will allow me to refresh data on a scheduled. I can't seem to find anything on gateway on Get data in PowerBI Desktop; so, I figured it's online.
When I go to dataset, settings, I can see Gateway connection. BUT, it says "You don't have any data gateways." with the option to Install now button to download the gateway.
My question is, will I need to install a On-premises data gateway (personal mode) on my pc / desktop besides the already installed On-premises data gateway (standard mode) (presumingly on a server somewhere)??
Of course, I prefer to connect to the standard mode and not have to install personal mode on my pc / desktop.

If there is indeed an existing on-prem gateway set up, you should use that. I can't tell why you aren't able to access it though. You should reach out to whoever the gateway admin is so they can help you get connected.

If you have already installed an on-premises data gateway (standard mode), you do not need to install an on-premises data gateway (personal mode).
