Question! So we have a PowerBI Report (basic SharePoint List query), that has a card visual with some filters applied and lock. Once published to the Company workspace, everyone on the team can see the applied filters. There is 1 person that the filters consistently drop and even when she applies them herself in edit mode and saves, if she refreshes they drop. Has anyone experienced this? I tried to see if her browser needs updating, but doesn't appear so. However, when she uses chrome 2 of the visuals keep the filters, and in Edge they all drop by 1.
That's very weird. She can clear browser cache and see if that works.
Tried this and still didn't work...
Hey @rebekahcastiell,
I may not be understanding all the specifics but this reminds me of what feels like a similar scenario I ran across. The issue in my case was the user had created a Bookmark and set the Bookmark to be the default view prior to me making some additional updates to the report. So everytime they loaded the report, it kept going back to the the state they saved in their Bookmark. Anyway, seems like maybe a stretch but thought it worth mentioning. Have a good one!
Thank you for this! I thought that as well. She said she was using a favorite bar but then I watched her go in organically through workspace and it won't show for her. I tried in Chrome vs. Edge and she has her browser set to clear cache each time she closes out the window. The Chrome will show more accurately but doesn't hold a few visuals more than the Edge. I wonder if her browser is outdated? She should be on standard updates but doesn't restart regularly but shows no updates her in software center.
Great idea though! Thank you!
Hey @rebekahcastiell,
You're welcome! But just to be clear, for my contribution above, I wasn't really thinking about web browser bookmarks but instead the Power BI built in "Personal Bookmarks" functionality imaged below. I'd recommend doing a screen share with the user, opening the report, having them click the "Personal Bookmarks" drop-down menu and look to see if they have created any personal bookmarks and if so, if one has been set to "Default". If so, have them delete it and retest to see if the report displays correctly now. Probably not this but could be worth a look. Have a good one!
