Power BI File disappeared
Hi Anonymous
Please first check which version do you use, please update to the lastest one.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-latest-update
Then check if your server meets the minumum requirements to run Power BI Desktop.

The same happened to me and two files disappeared.
While I was working PowerBI crashed and two files I was working on disappeared from the folder and they weren't even in the PowerBI's "Recent elements" list.
This behaviuor makes PowerBI very unreliable.

Gabriele

Hi Anonymous ,
Yes, I agree with you.
I've found a kind of workaround on how to be able to still recover your files.
When Power BI crashes, you'll most likely get an error message. Don't press okay, but rather close Power BI with the taskmanager. This way you force Power BI to shut down and in my case when you open Power BI again you can use the recovered file.
When you do press okay, there is a high change that you can still recover the file but it is not guaranteed, that's why I use this workaround.
This is not ideal, but it may help you...
