Power BI Export to PDF in Power Automate Not Working with Premium Per User License – “Not Found” Err

Hi everyone,

SystemSolver_0-1731637880120.png

I'm trying to export a Power BI report to PDF using Power Automate with a Power BI Premium Per User (PPU) license. I’ve set up the flow in Power Automate with the "Export to File for Power BI Reports" action, selecting the correct workspace and report ID, and specifying PDF as the export format. However, every time I run the flow, I encounter a "Not Found" error.

Here’s what I’ve checked so far:

  1. The workspace is assigned to Premium Per User.
  2. Export settings are enabled in the Power BI tenant settings.
  3. I have access to the workspace and report.

Has anyone encountered this issue or have any ideas on what might be causing the error? Is there any additional configuration required for PPU licenses to enable export functionality in Power Automate?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Hi @SystemSolver ,

I can only find documents that currently support paginated reports and are limited to one export in 5 minutes.

Hi @SystemSolver ,

According to the documentation, the capacity needs to be any A1/EM1 - A6/P3 SKU, these are Premium Per Capacity (PPC).

To clarify, exporting from Power BI via Power Automate requires Premium Capacity, and a Premium Per User license won’t support this. A possible workaround is subscribing to a PDF and configuring it to be sent via email.

Do you know if there’s any way to send an Excel file with just a Premium Per User license, or would Premium Capacity be required for that?

Hi @SystemSolver -The "FeatureNotAvailableError" you’re seeing in Power Automate when using the "Export to File for Power BI Reports" action can have a few potential causes, even with a Power BI Premium Per User (PPU) license.

Power BI Premium Per User (PPU) license should indeed allow exporting reports to PDF or other formats via Power Automate. However, ensure that Export to File settings are enabled in the Power BI Admin Portal under Tenant settings. You may need admin access to verify this.

Power Automate may require additional permissions to access the Power BI workspace and report. In Power Automate, check the Connections to Power BI and ensure they are active and properly authorized.

my view,  try re-creating the Power Automate flow or testing with a simpler report to isolate any potential issues related to report complexity. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the detailed suggestions! I’ve already tried these steps and ensured the Export to File settings are enabled in the Power BI Admin Portal. However, I believe the issue may be related to my license. Specifically, I suspect that certain features required for this functionality might not be fully supported under the Premium Per User license.

If you have any additional insights or suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate it!
