I'm not 100%, but is there a posibility to automaticaly refresh/reload,... data, reports... using Power BI Desktop? It is not supported only by PBI Service, on premise??

Hi @tomas12344 ,

The only thing I can think of that sounds like what you're trying to achieve is by setting the page refresh interval when using either Direct Query (DQ) or some LiveConnect scenarios.

When you have a DQ data model, you can set the following parameter in the Format area of your report page:

This will refresh your page in Desktop while you are developing, as well as refreshing in the Service when an enduser is viewing.

Hello

Unfortunately, in order to generate automatic updates in Power Bi, it is necessary to have a PRO license and modify both the gateway to be used and the update (frequency) protocols.

Another option apparently is making connections to your dashboard with Direct Query, I recommend you investigate that option. As far as I know, it is not possible to program in Power Bi as you could in MS Excel for example through VBA,

Hi @tomas12344,

For desktop import mode, they can't be auto-updated even if you are working on the pro or above license. I'd like to suggest you change to live mode(direct query, live connection) for auto-update.

BTW, if you publish them to the power bi service side, they can be enabled the schedule refresh for auto update.

Please take a look at the official document about data refresh.
