Power BI Desktop's Data Source Location in PBIX File

Hi,

I've been working on PBIX file for some migration tasks from another BI tool to Power BI. And I'm stuck at finding the Datasource location on the PBIX File. I Normally use a Excel file(.xlsx or .csv) for the report creating. I tried working with the PBIT file also. but, that consists only the metadata needed for the reports to be visualized.

I've dived through numerous articles and blogs. Where I came across the file name called "DataMashup" which may consist of a path or the connection required to connect the datasource. But, I din't find it in the recent versions (June 2022 Update (2.106. 582.0)) of Power BI Desktop. It seems like may be the Power BI has removed it for security reasons.

Does anyone know where the Datasource file of the Power BI Desktop is actually saved?

It would be great, If Some one helps me on this. I've been stuck at this for weeks.

Thanks in Advance!

    Hi  Anonymous ,

You can put PBIX into a folder.

Click View - File name extensions.

Change the suffix of PBIX files to ZIP.

Then click on it and there will be DataMode.
