e same issue, rerunning the installer and selecting repair did the trick.

Hi rajendraongole1 ,
I experience the exact same thing. Couldn't find any information about it (nor about the August update itself btw?).
Nothing I tried seemed to make a difference:
- I got the error without even opening a report (the first time)
- I got the error with several reports that I tried
- I got the error in different elements of PBI Desktop (i.e. query editor, dax editor, data pane, report page, etc).
- I got the error after closing / opening the program, with / without reports
- I've tried to force a refresh, but it seems not to be able to access any data whatsoever, even though it claims it refreshed.
The error also appears at random (at a certain moment it will all of a sudden popup again).
the data pane shows no info and I get all sorts of IO error and other errors I've never seen before.
I ended up uninstalling and reverting back to the July update, which works fine fortunately.

Hi, all
The official update of the latest August version of the installation package, if you can not open the PBIX file normally after the previous update, please uninstall the current software then download and install the latest installation package on the official website or install the previous version of PBI desktop.

Our PBI Desktop installations are done automatically through Company Portal, so there is no way to roll back to the previous version for us. A ticket has been raised with our IT dept in case they can do anything, but what is really needed is a proper fix from Microsoft - does anyone know if this is happening?
I have seen tickets raised with MS (and I have reported it too) but they took the revert to July option as being "fix delivered" so I am not confident anything is happening.Any suggestions or information would be appreciated.

Thanks rajendraongole1, but we only installed today and it is the latest version published (2.132.908.0), so the issue is clearly not properly fixed yet. We have a team of 20 out of action while we wait for this to be resolved!
