Hi,
I am currently developing some dashboards for a client. The PBI dashboards are linked to an SQL Server database (used by my client in his ERP system, Sage X3).
My client is not sure of which PBI license to use, and I have never been in this situation since all my clients usually have a PBI license already in use.
I just tried PBIRS and worked on my local machine, however I don't want to suggest this -free- solution since I noticed some options missing, however it seems that I need a special Power BI Desktop version so that dashboards work on PBIRS: Power BI Desktop optimized for RS.
So, what version should I used of PBI in order to develop dashboards for my client? Should I keep up with PB Desktop or swith to PB Desktop RS?
PS: My client is onto a on-premise solution, however cannot pay big bucks for it since it's a small company (less than 200K USD in revenue per annum).
Regards,
If they want to go with the on-premise solution then you have to do the same, and stay with RS.
