Power BI Desktop freeze
Hello,
from time to time Power BI Dektop (latest version) is freezing (no reaction on any keypress). It needs to be shut down by the task manger. Afterwards the pbix-file is corupt and can't be opened anymore. There's no error message. My RAM has sufficient size. pbix-file size is app. 30-50MB. The crashes annoy because a lot of work is lost.
Does anybody has any idea about the reason? (Security Suite, Virus Scanner ??).

Hi HolgerS ,
I can give you some possible reasons from my view.
- If you open other software and will not respond, please check your machine(for example, your hard disk has bad sectors).
- Maybe you have opened a lot of programs and caused insufficient memory.
- You report is too complex or there are many filters, you need to optimize your model.
If you still have this issue for Power BI, you'd better create a support ticket in Power BI Support to get further help.

Hi,
thanks for your answer. I can exclude 1) server storage and 2) RAM is sufficient. 3) It happens with different files on different machines. But it's more often with the 32bit version (which I need because of "older" oracle data base). I keep observing it. It looks, that it has to do sth with our IT environment.

The shutdown mostly occurs when using power query in 32bit version. Any ideas? Thanks.
