I am an external user to the tenant name 'xyz'.
I have contributor role to the workspace and when I try to connect to the Lakehouse tables through powerBI desktop it works.
But when I try to connect to the lakehouse/warehouse SQL Endpoint then I am facing the below issue!
But the user of the tenant name 'xyz' is able to connect to the SQL end point.
What am I missing here?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@Monicacvl , Make sure you are added to the SQL analytics endpoint and have read-all access
Make sure there are no IP whitelisting issues.
Check for any missing tenants' permissions
You may want to try the following:
Confirm you’re added as a guest user in the tenant.
Get explicit permissions to the Fabric SQL endpoint (not just workspace).
Make sure your network/firewall allows outbound traffic on SQL port 1433.
Increase connection timeout settings in Power BI Desktop.
Ask admin to check and raise query timeout settings on the SQL endpoint.
Test connection using tools like SSMS or Azure Data Studio.
Verify the Lakehouse warehouse has enough resources and isn’t overwhelmed.
Request the admin to sync or refresh the SQL endpoint metadata if needed.
