Power BI Desktop error: External users can’t connect to Fabric SQL endpoint of Lakehouse.

I am an external user to the tenant name 'xyz'.
I have contributor role to the workspace and when I try to connect to the Lakehouse tables through powerBI desktop it works.

But when I try to connect to the lakehouse/warehouse SQL Endpoint then I am facing the below issue!
But the user of the tenant name 'xyz' is able to connect to the SQL end point.
What am I missing here?

@Monicacvl , Make sure you are added to the SQL analytics endpoint and have read-all access

Make sure there are no IP whitelisting issues.

Check for any missing tenants' permissions

You may want to try the following:

  • Confirm you’re added as a guest user in the tenant.

  • Get explicit permissions to the Fabric SQL endpoint (not just workspace).

  • Make sure your network/firewall allows outbound traffic on SQL port 1433.

  • Increase connection timeout settings in Power BI Desktop.

  • Ask admin to check and raise query timeout settings on the SQL endpoint.

  • Test connection using tools like SSMS or Azure Data Studio.

  • Verify the Lakehouse warehouse has enough resources and isn’t overwhelmed.

  • Request the admin to sync or refresh the SQL endpoint metadata if needed.
