Power BI Desktop does not update

you download the latest version from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=58494

that's how it gets updated.

You can try setting the default version:

Tap on any pbix file, right-click on it and select Properties, under the General tab, look for Open with, click Change, and then select the new version of Power BI Desktop.

If the above method does not work, try to uninstall the Power BI Desktop program completely, and download the latest Power BI Desktop from the official link given by Super User.
