Power BI Desktop sign in is not working and not throwing any error (nothing happens). Sign in in Power BI Service is working fine.
Until about a month ago, I was using the March 2024 version of Power BI Desktop without any issues. However, one day, the sign-in feature suddenly stopped working. Sometimes, immediately after restarting my computer, I am able to sign in successfully. However, once I close Power BI Desktop and try to open it again to test the sign-in, I am unable to do so. It is important to note that this behavior is not consistent.
I have followed the troubleshooting steps provided in the Microsoft Learn article titled "Troubleshoot sign-in issues in Power BI Desktop" (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-troubleshooting-sign-in), but unfortunately, the issue persists.
I am not the only one experiencing this problem; there are six other individuals in my company who are facing the same issue. I have also attempted to resolve the problem by reinstalling Power BI Desktop multiple times, but the issue remains unresolved. Currently I have the June 2024 version of Power BI Desktop installed. And, not working!
I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.
Hi @Tico76 ,
From your description, it seems that the root cause is that your computer blocks access to the URL required by PowerBI Desktop.
I recommend that you work with your network team to get normal DNS resolution on your network for the list of URLs provided to allow PBIDesktop to complete the login.

Thank you for guiding me in that direction. I have reached out to the network team to investigate further. Once I receive their feedback, I will update this thread and confirm whether this solution resolves the issue.
