Power BI Desktop crashes on startup.
Hello,
I am supporting a client, and their Power BI crashes on startup. I have not been able to enable tracing since we cannot start the program.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the client, which is 32 bit. Prior to this issue, when opening the software, the machine would slow significantly as PowerBI took a lot of system resources.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Hi @potatoshapedman ,
Please review the minimum requirements as follows to run Power BI Desktop in this official documentation and check whether your computer can meet these requirements...
- Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2, or later
- .NET 4.6.2
- Internet Explorer 10 or later
- Memory (RAM): At least 1 GB available, 1.5 GB or more recommended.
- Display: At least 1440x900 or 1600x900 (16:9) required. Lower resolutions such as 1024x768 or 1280x800 aren't supported, as certain controls (such as closing the startup screen) display beyond those resolutions.
- Windows display settings: If you set your display settings to change the size of text, apps, and other items to more than 100%, you may not be able to see certain dialogs that you must interact with to continue using Power BI Desktop. If you encounter this issue, check your display settings in Windows by going to Settings > System > Display, and use the slider to return display settings to 100%.
- CPU: 1 gigahertz (GHz) 64-bit (x64) processor recommended.
In addition, you can review the solution in the following thread. Hope it can help you resolve the problem.
Best Regards

Close all other applications, literally everything other than Power BI.
If this doesn't help you probably need to Increase your system RAM. I would recvommend 16GB so that other applications too can run smoothly.

I did try installing the 64 bit version, but encountered the same issue. Software failed to start and crashed.
I am going to try installing the November 2020 version to see if it starts so I can enable tracing.
