Power BI Desktop connect to SSAS cube remotely

Dear all

I try to use the latest version of Power BI Desktop to connect to MD cube. It was success when Power BI Desktop and MD cube were in the same server. If I use Power BI Desktop from another server, it failed. But Excel Pivot Table can connect from remote server.

Is it possible for Power BI Desktop to connect to MD cube from remote machine?

when you said "... If I use Power BI Desktop from another server, it failed ...", what is the failure message? What's the address of the remote server? What authentication protocol does the server accept?

Facing the same issue providing the remote server ip:port number for SSAS MD instance from local machine power bi. Need urgent help.

@Bird007 This is not mendatory to have Power BI Desktop and MD cubes on the same server. You can install PBI Desktop on your local machine and use it to connect with SSAS Server.
