Power BI Desktop cannot open semantic model
I do not find the page to file a bug for PBI desktop. So I report it here for vis.
The new release of pbi desktop (2.151, releasaed on Feb 25, 2026 instroduced a new issue as below.
Reverting to 2.150 (released in Jan, 2026) will fix the issue.
Issue
When I tried to open a semantic model with Power BI desktop via "Edit in Desktop", it errors out, sometimes the error is related to "Power BI Free users", sometimes it is related to "XMLA endpoint".

If you have a Pro license you can open a Pro ticket at https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/newsupportticket/powerbi
Otherwise you can raise an issue at https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues .
