I have a power bi desktop file, within which I am connected live to a SSAS cube.
Within the power bi desktop file, I was signed in with my account name and password, and then subsequently changed my account password (outside of power bi desktop).
So the next time I try to launch power bi desktop I get a message "Unable to connect.....we could not connect to the Analysis Services server because the connection timed out or server name is incorrect".
Is there any way get power bi desktop to launch? Or is my pbix file lost forever just because of this inablility to connect?
Hi @cableoneob,
Based on test and research, I find that pbix file will store your login-in certificate when you use ssas live mode to connect to SSAS. (at the first time when you login in to the server)
Current, power bi desktop not support to modify the certificate of live mode. You need to re-build new file to connect to server and login with the new certificate.
For your requirement, you can vote the follow idea.
Ability to change SSAS Live connection
